Julie Campbell, RN-BC, CRRN, CHCQM

Julie Campbell, President and Supervisor of Medical Services, is a Registered Nurse with more than thirty years in the medical profession and more than twenty years of experience as a field case manager and medical consultant with a focus on Workers’ Compensation, Longshore, Auto Liability and Medical Malpractice.

She was licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida in 1985 following graduation from Florida State College at Jacksonville and began her practice at Baptist Medical Center, Downtown Campus, working in a cardiopulmonary step-down unit. Over the next ten years, she expanded her practice to include medical/surgical nursing, intensive care nursing, psychiatric nursing, labor and delivery and gastroenterology.

In 1995, Julie left the acute care setting to work for Claims Administration Corporation as a Utilization Review/Telephonic Case Management Nurse. She returned to the hospital setting at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in 1996 to work in Utilization Review and Risk Management, obtaining Certified Professional in Utilization Review (CPUR) in 1998.

She expanded into field case management in 1999 with Concentra Integrated Services as a field nurse case manager. She achieved Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) in January of 2000 and was licensed through the State of Florida as a Qualified Rehabilitation Provider. Her responsibilities included discharge planning and medical care coordination as well as catastrophic case management, home assessment and medical record review for utilization management of workers compensation claims.

She founded, Exceptional Case Services, Inc. in 2006, providing medical consulting and case management services to the employer, insurance and legal community. She is a catastrophic case manager with fifteen years of experience in traumatic brain injury, orthopedic injury, multiple trauma, occupational exposures, repetitive trauma injury, burns and spinal cord injury. In her current position, she serves as a mentor to the ECS consultants and oversees the work performed on the cases for education and quality assurance.

Ms. Campbell is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Case Management, as well as by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Professionals in Healthcare and Quality Management (CHCQM), as well as holding subspecialty certifications in Transitions of Care, Managed Care, and Patient Safety/Risk Management. She is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, Worker’s Compensation Claims Professionals, Florida Association of Self Insured, American Nurses Association, Florida Nurses Association, Risk and Insurance Management Society, Florida Chapter of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and the American Board for Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Professionals.
